Public Art | Diana Al-Hadid: Delirious Matter at Madison Square Park

May 07, 2018

The Gregory Hotel is located in the heart of Manhattan, walking distance from one of the most exceptional outdoor public art spaces. Classic New York adventures are aplenty when strolling through Madison Square Park, where Diana Al-Hadid will have six newly commissioned sculptures on view from May 14 until September 3, 2018.

Delirious Matter is the thirty-sixth al fresco exhibition organized by Madison Square Park Conservancy and is Al-Hadid’s first large-scale public project. Experience the haunting artworks influenced by antiquity, architecture, cosmology, and Old Master paintings. The exhibition is installed throughout the park, with sculptures located on the lawn, against the hedges, and immersed in the reflecting pool. Al-Hadid has joined the growing roster of exhibited artists such as Erwin Redl, Martin Puryear, Paula Hayes, and Jim Campbell.
