ART AT THE GREGORY HOTEL

Introducing Michelle Sakhai, a contemporary abstract expressionist artist, based in NYC who references the teachings of Transformative Art, with a focus on light and energy, using spontaneous strokes as a vehicle for healing and channeling peace. Using metal leaf and oils on canvas, Sakhai’s process is emotionally transformative and spiritually expansive. Michelle first put brush to paper exploring watercolor at age six. By thirteen she moved to oils. She recalls this first jump, that also feels like her adult shift from figurative painting to abstract expressionism. Michelle’s exploration of Japanese art and classical landscape training forms a solid foundation for today’s free-flowing and continually evolving abstract expression.
